4th March 2022

Dear parents/ carers,

Sports news this week:  Huge congratulations this week to the Year 6 Tag Rugby team who attended Carver Barracks this week, after qualifying last term.  They came a superb 5th out of 16 schools attending, and have now qualified for the final round in Harlow on the 16th March.  Well done to the team: Sam T, Harry H, Luke S, Louis P, Phoebe D, Rosa D, Rex M, Alex M, Oscar L and Oscar P.

My lovely year 5/6 hockey group played their socks off in the pouring rain at Newport after school today.  It was a tough match against RAB.  We may not have won but Ruby, Oscar L, Oscar P, Evie, Toby, Alina, Phoebe and Grace gave it everything they had – well done team, as always, I’m so proud of you all!

House Points:  Purples have taken back the crown this week!  Congratulations Purple Team!

Volunteers:  It has been so lovely to be able to welcome volunteers back into school this half term.  Thank you so much to those of you that have been into school to support the children already.

It’s not too late to volunteer at Henham, just drop me an email or catch me at the gate for more information.

A reminder – Vacancies at Henham:  We have a vacancy for a nursery practitioner – for more details, please see the link on our website, https://henhamugley.essex.sch.uk/current-vacancies/ or the Essex School Jobs website: http://www.essexschoolsjobs.co.uk/Vacancies/Details.

World Book Day: What a fun day we had on Thursday, celebrating World Book Day.  Such a vast array of costumes across the school!  The children enjoyed sharing their favourite books with each other; it was such a joy to see the children take pleasure in sharing their books with each other.

On Thursday, we also had a Theatre show in school for Years 1-4. It was absolutely wonderful to see the children enjoy the experience of external visitors coming into the school and performing for them.

Finally, if you’re looking for something to do on Saturday, why not pop along to the PSA Jumble Sale: Saturday 5th March from 12 – 3pm in the school hall

Whatever you’re doing this weekend, have a great one!
