Henham is a single form entry school. This means we have one class per year group in the main school, Reception to Year 6, so seven classes in total. We also have our own Nursery offering morning sessions.
Children enter the classroom from 8.45am where staff are ready to welcome them and get them ready to learn with ‘start of the day’ activities.
Registration is at 8.55am when school officially starts. We kindly ask parents to ensure children are punctual; we believe this is important both socially and from an education perspective. In the event of a delay in the mornings, and assuming it is safe to do so, please contact the office.
End of School Day
At 3.15pm, we ask parents and carers to meet the children outside their classrooms.
Older children in Years 4, 5 & 6 are allowed to leave school to meet parents in the Key Stage 1 playground or outside the gate if we have parental permission. Please ask for a permission form from the office if you require one. In such cases, responsibility for the safety of the child after leaving the school building reverts to parents.
If there is an emergency and you are not available to collect your children at the end of the day, please let the office know so that we can ensure they are looked after whilst they wait.
We also need to know if a different adult is going to collect your child. Please let the teacher know in the morning or contact the office.
Nursery Drop Off & Collection
Access to the Nursery is via the main school gate and the Key Stage One playground.
