Year 1 opened their class up to parents for the ‘year 1 toy museum’. The children were able to share their parents’ childhood toys. This led to some beautiful writing from the children.
As part of their detective agency work, the children got back into their groups and raced to make a discovery. They travelled through a tunnel where they found different artefacts and images. Children sketched what they saw and analysed the different artefacts before concluding they had discovered Tutankhamun’s tomb.
Year 2 explored their Titanic topic through pictures. We studied pictures of the Titanic and looked for clues as to why the Titanic might have been such a big disaster. We then sequenced pictures of the Titanic using evidence from them to find clues. We used these tasks to work on our group work skills too!
Year 6 identified historical eras and then examined the events and characteristics contrasting their differences and similarities. We created our own chronological timeline of the Anglo-Saxons, Vikings and Romans. We looked at chronology and how different time periods overlapped.
