31st March 2023

Dear Parents/Carers,

We’ve made it t to the end of the spring term and it is time to say a fond farewell to two valued members of staff.

Mrs Jenny Peck, who has fulfilled various roles across the school, is moving to Dorset and has said it’s too far to commute to Henham!  Jenny leaves us today (along with Lara and Alice) and we will miss them very much.  Always smiling and always flexible, Jenny has been a real asset to Henham.  At least we have somewhere to stay when we holiday to Dorset now!

Our lovely Mrs Janet Pascoe finished the spring term with us today, ready to start her retirement.  Janet has been at Henham since 2004 and has been beautifully described as ‘the fabric of Henham’ She will be greatly missed by us all and we wish her much love and happiness as she starts this new chapter in her life.  We have planned a lovely afternoon tea for Janet after school today as we wish her a well-earned and happy retirement.

House Points: well done to the PURPLE team!

A message from Saffron Walden Rugby Club: will be celebrating their 60th anniversary by holding a festival over the weekend of the 15th -16th April and on the Saturday, we would love to invite families from your school to come along and join in on the fun!  It will give the children and parents the opportunity to see who we are and give them a feel for the club.

We are hosting 2 cup finals, with the 1st team appearing in one and fingers crossed the 2nd team will be in the other one if they win their semi-final. Along with bouncy castles, great food, live music and much more we hope it will be a lovely, fun day out and look forward to welcoming many new faces from surrounding villages.   Please see the attached flyer for more information.

A couple of reminders:

Coffee Morning at Henham and Ugley Primary School

Tuesday 18th April at 8.45am

Tuesday 2nd May at 8.45am.

Is your child struggling with mild to moderate anxiety such as worries or fears, low mood or challenging behaviour at home?

Please do come along for a coffee and meet the staff from Mental Health Support Teams in Schools Uttlesford who are about to start work in our school.  This will be an informal chat with parents about the services they offer, what they can provide and the support that there is available.

Both sessions will be the same. Everybody welcome.

Mental Health Support Teams in Schools Uttlesford, part of Mind in West Essex, is a new service for children, young persons and their parents/carers. We support mental health and emotional wellbeing, focusing on early intervention.

We work with the parents/carers as research shows us this is more effective because you know your child best. We also work with the school, providing staff training and workshops focused on mental health and wellbeing.

Some things we can support you with are challenging behaviour, low mood or mild to moderate anxiety such as worries, fears etc.

COMMUNITY SCHOOL NURSE DROP IN SESSIONS
