29th April 2022

Dear parents/ carers,

What a super end to the week we all had today with a vast range of activities in support of our Mental Health day.

Before I get into the activities from today…

Writing competition:  Mrs Brogan has organised a Jubilee writing competition.  Full details are attached – please do take a look and encourage your child to apply.  Prize winners will be announced at our Jubilee celebrations on the afternoon of Friday 27th May.

Change of dates:  a couple of changes to the dates that were sent out last week.

Year 6 Production:  This has been put back to Wednesday 13th July in light of children and families possibly wanting to watch the opening ceremony and first England match of the Women’s Euros, hosted in England on July 6th.

Dress as a Royal:  I have moved this to Thursday 26th May (I don’t think Year 3 would have much fun trying to get out of their costumes for their swimming session on Wednesday 25th!!)

I’ll put the dates at the bottom of this newsletter again so hopefully no one gets too confused!  Term dates for 2022/23 are also attached.

Proud Headteacher:  I love receiving emails letting me know about celebrations outside of school and was thrilled to receive this lovely picture and explanation for Finn in Year 1.   Finn received the ‘gymnast of the month award’ with this explanation: Not only does he have a great attitude and work ethic, he has a wonderful kind and caring nature. Finn found himself naturally gravitating towards and helping another gymnast with additional needs.  When kindness is this pure and organic, it really helps you to see the world in a brighter light.  Finn, I am so proud of you x

Essex Book Festival: Family Fun Day:  Love Your Library Day Jubilee Special

On Saturday 28 May, parents/carers and their children are royally invited to our Love Your Library Day Jubilee Special at Chelmsford Library.

There will be jubilee-themed activities for children and adults, including a trail, storytime, arts and crafts, ancestry and much more!

Please keep an eye on events listings for Love Your Library Day here: events.

The school was buzzing today as we held a Mental Health Day.
