26th March 2021

Dear parents/ carers,

The end of the spring term is here and I know for the vast majority of you this will have come round fast as the children have only been back at school for a few weeks.  I would just like to say how marvelous the children have been at settling back into school life.  The children have demonstrated such resilience and maturity on their return and I am so proud of them.

Red Nose Day Donations: Thank you so much for your generosity, I am now able to confirm that a wonderful £172.70 was raised.

Change to Non Pupil Day 7th June 2021: As you know we are working towards replacing our classroom lovingly known as ‘Creaky’ and this work is due to start in late June with the majority of the work happening over the summer holidays.
Having a modern building specifically designed for us will benefit the school and our pupils for years to come, but as I am sure many of you have experienced, building work doesn’t always go to plan. We have strategies and contingencies in place to mitigate any anticipated disruption.
We will have a temporary classroom for a few weeks from the end of June and to facilitate the move out of creaky and the move in to the temporary classroom we have decided to change our non-pupil day from the 7th June to a date likely to be in the third week in June.

I will confirm the amended non pupil day as soon as I receive the final date from Essex County Council of the start of the building works, but I wanted you to have as much notice as possible. By moving the date we ensure our children don’t lose any more days in school which we know is important to us all. If the change in date does cause any issues for you, please come and talk to me.
Over the next few months as plans develop I will keep you up to date with progress; thank you for your understanding.

Easter Egg Trail – Saturday 3rd April: Please see the attached flyer for details of a family Easter egg trail suitable for primary school children and their families, including toddlers upwards, organised by Henham Church.

Tik Tok – ‘what parents need to know’ : As more and more children are using Tik Tok, I have attached a guide to help you ensure your children are safe online and not accessing content that is inappropriate.  The age for using Tik Tok is 12+ but I know many children have their own accounts.  Could I please urge you to check that the settings are enabled to private at all times; if your child is in a video, please ensure that nothing in the video would enable them to be identified, for example, location, school uniform etc.  For more app guides, please click here: https://nationalonlinesafety.com/
