Dear parents/ carers,
Welcome back to the start of the summer term. I hope you all had a super Easter break 😊
We have so much to look forward to as the covid restrictions are slowly being lifted. I can’t wait for ‘normal’ school life to resume!
Clubs: I am delighted to let you know that after school activity clubs will be restarting week commencing 2nd May. Mrs Nicholls is currently in the process of finalising the club information; the sign up details will be sent out by the end of next week.
Music Lessons: From next Monday, week commencing 19th April, music lessons will also be resuming for those children already signed up for tuition.
School Hall Hire: Additionally, we are now able to resume our hall lettings again. If you would like to hire the hall, out of school hours, you can contact Mrs Hipperson or Mrs Nicholls in the school office, who will be happy to advise you on the cost and process.
PSA, Bags2School: Start collecting! Bags2School is such a great way to raise money for the school and the PSA will shortly be organising a Bags2School collection! Items that can be collected include, clothing, paired shoes (tied together or elastic band around), handbags, hats, bags, scarves and ties, soft toys, household linen, household curtains, household towels and household bedding (bed sheets, pillow cases and duvet covers). Look out for more information coming soon!
Fun run – Henham 10K & 3K Fun Run – 12th – 27th June: The Henham 10K & 3K Fun Run will be going ahead this year as a “virtual” run/walk. As we aren’t able to predict what the Covid restrictions will be in the summer, the race committee have decided to hold the event in a way that will keep all entrants safe. Please also see the attached flyer.
The run will be marked up and open to competitors from 12th June 2021 – 27th June 2021. Entrants will need a fitness tracker e.g. Strava, and will be able to complete the course as many times as they like, and then submit their best times. All competitors will receive a race medal.

Entrance is £5 each and all the much needed proceeds will be donated to the school.

Parent Forum Monday 26th April: I will be holding a virtual parent forum on Monday 26th April, 1-2.30pm. All parents are welcome. If you have anything you would like raised, could I please request that you send this to me ahead of the meeting, head@henhamugley.essex.sch.uk. I have two items I would like to discuss: parent consultations for the future and school opening times after Covid. I will send the link out for the meeting in my newsletter next week.
