Dear parents/ carers,
Another week draws to an end and after coming back from the Year 5 and 6 hockey club training session at Newport this evening, I can’t help but reflect and be so proud of how well all the children are getting on after just a few weeks of training sessions. Great listening, enthusiasm and team work – good job team!

Miss Jeremy: I am delighted to let you know that our lovely Miss Jeremy had a beautiful baby girl this week. We are all sending her and her new family much love.
Secondary School Applications for September 2023 – Reminder for Year 6 Parents: As you may be aware, the statutory closing date for applications from parents of Year 6 children (for a secondary school place in Year 7 from September 2023) is 31 October 2022.
Applications can be made via the Essex website here: www.essex.gov.uk/admissions
Nuts: As a no nut school, please can I remind everyone children cannot bring the following items into school in their lunch boxes or for snack: sandwiches using seedy bread, rolls with sesame seed toppings or bread sticks with sesame. Additionally, hummus or any products containing tahini including snack bars containing sesame. Thank you for your support.
Community School Nurse Drop in Sessions: The 5-19 team will be starting Community School Nurse drop in sessions on the 1st November 2022.
This term they are offering Saffron Walden and Great Dunmow venues, next term they will be adding Stansted. Parents are welcome to attend from any area on whichever is a suitable date for them. Please see the attached flyer for more information.
Flu Immunisation: Whilst the Immunisation team won’t be coming into school again this year, please see the attached flyer which gives details of how to book the flu Immunisation outside of school.
Get Ready – PSA Design a Christmas card: I’m doing it, I’m mentioning Christmas! We have organised an exciting design a Christmas Card project with Prontaprint Bishops Stortford for this Autumn term again this year. Your child will soon be bringing home their design for a Christmas card, along with an order form. The Christmas card designs will be professionally printed and you will also be able to order gift tags, wrapping paper and mugs of the same design.
Full information will be sent out with your child’s design soon!
Finally, are you local and looking for a part time position at our school?
