30th September 2022

Dear parents/ carers,

Another week has flown by and this week we had the Dogs Trust in delivering assemblies to the different classes in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.  The children were amazing asking lots of fantastic questions!

Staffing News:  Congratulations to our lovely Mrs Heaps who is expecting a baby in the spring!  We are absolutely delighted for her.  As I’m sure you are aware, contracting chicken pox and other infectious illnesses during pregnancy can cause harm for both Mum and the unborn child.

Could you please therefore let the school know if your child develops an infectious rash; thank you.

Headteacher Awards: Congratulations to the following children who have received my Headteacher award this week:

Nursery Class Mia & Amelie
Reception Class Charlie & Henry A
Year 1 Leo & Poppy
Year 2 Sam & Zach
Year 3 Daisy & Freya
Year 4 Joseph & Ava
Year 5 Mariyam & Dot
Year 6 Charlie H & Edward

House Points: Well done to the RED Team who have taken the first placed position this week!

Sporting News from Thomas H, Year 6:  Congratulations to the Year 5 and 6 football club team who played their first match against Elsenham Primary School this week.  The end result was 6-2 to Henham.  The goal scorers from Henham were Callum, who scored 3 goals, Franklin then scored 1 goal, Thomas H scored 1 and Wilf scored the final goal; all the scorers were from Year 6.  Well done everyone!

Coming up:

Tuesday 4th October:  A reminder that the Flu Immunisations will be happening next Tuesday.  Parents need to complete the online consent form by today please.

Thursday 6th October is School Census day: We would ask that you encourage your child to have a school dinner on this day, especially if your child is in Reception Class or Key Stage 1.  Every meal taken on this day adds to our overall budget!  Thank you!

Monday 10th October:  School Photos – more information to follow shortly!

That’s it for this week, have a super weekend and if you are taking part in the London Marathon – good luck!
