2nd December 2022

Dear parents/ carers,

What a super day of crazy hair we had today!  Thank you so much for your donations of bottles for the PSA Christmas bazaar.

Your children will have come home this week with raffle tickets for the bazaar.  If you need more tickets, please do see a member of the PSA who will be at the school gates each morning next week.  If you have excess tickets, please do return these to the school or a PSA member so we can redistribute; thank you!

A reminder that next Friday 9th December is Christmas Jumper/ Christmas clothing Day!  Come to school in your favourite Christmas jumper or Christmas wear.  In exchange please bring in a donation of cakes. All ingredients must be clearly labelled.

Friday 9th December Christmas Bazaar 3:15 – 6:00pm, don’t forget to book your Santa slot. Entry is free but please bring lots of change for all the exciting festivities!

Sports News: Today saw the filming of our entries for the Uttlesford Schools Sports Partnership Cheerleading competition.  What a fantastic job all the children from Year 1 – 6 did!  I’ll let you know the results as soon as they are in!

Because of the filming, we weren’t able to have our usual Friday celebration assembly so some children won’t know who achieved my Headteachers award this week!  The list is below and those that didn’t receive theirs today will get them on Monday.  Congratulations to:

Nursery Class Roman
Reception Class Ralph & Olivia
Year 1 Sofia & George F
Year 2 Herbie & Alice
Year 3 Scarlett & Isla
Year 4 Remi & Libby
Year 5 Seth & Harry W
Year 6 Stan & Alexis

House Points: Well done to the PURPLE Team who have taken first placed position this week!

A message from the Governing Board: The Governing Body are pleased to announce that following Lindy McDermotts resignation as Chair, Jo Goldsmith and Mary Compton (both existing Governors) have been appointed as Co-Chairs with immediate effect.

Jo and Mary will work closely together and in partnership with the Head teacher, their fellow Governors and all school staff to ensure that your children have the best possible experience while they are part of our school. The Co-Chairs will follow this announcement with a more detailed communication in the New Year introducing themselves and sharing more detail on how they will work together in the best interest of the children, staff and the wider school community. The governing body wish to thank Lindy for all her hard work in recent years and wish her well with her new plans in 2023.

Acts of kindness: Year 5 have created an Acts of Kindness advent calendar.  Yesterday Mrs Hipperson and Mrs Nichols in the office were treated to a cup of tea and biscuits by             children from Year 5 and I was the lucky recipient today!  Leah and Charlotte made me a drink and provided me with a generous selection of biscuits; what a lovely surprise!  Thank you Year 5 for being so thoughtful!

That’s it for this week, other than a reminder that all after school activity clubs have now come to an end for this term.  Clubs will resume after Christmas and the office will advise you of the new clubs in due course.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend,

Kim
