Dear parents/ carers,

As another week comes to an end, a few updates and reminders for you this week.

Parent Governor Election:  I sent out information this morning advising of a Parent Governor vacancy. Please do get in touch with me if you would like more information about this important position.  Nominations must be received no later than Friday 15^th October 2021.

E safety:  Are you concerned about your child’s safety on the internet and would like some advice and support on how to keep them safe? The Essex Child and Family Wellbeing Service presents Virtual eSafety Parent Workshops with the 2 Johns on Tuesday 26^th October, 8pm-9.30pm.

This free parent’s workshop will look at the online world and how our young people are using it. How they are navigating around restrictions and using the internet without the parent’s knowledge.  I encourage as many parents as possible to attend.

To book your place now please call us on 0300 247 0122 Monday – Friday 9am-5pm.

School photographs: A reminder that individual and sibling photos will be taken in school on Thursday 7^th October.  If you have a younger sibling of a child that attends Henham, you can pop along to the school hall between 8.35am and 9am to have a family photograph taken.

Parents’ Evening:  Parents’ evening is fast approaching, and the office will be in contact next week to advise you on how to book your session for either Tuesday 19^th or Thursday 21^st October.

If your child has a one plan meeting, you will not need to book in an additional parent evening slot, your child’s class teacher will contact you directly to arrange this.

Clubs during parents’ evening week:  There will be no art and archery club on Tuesday 19^th October and no netball club on Thursday 21^st October, as the staff will be engaged with parents’ evening.

The Alternative Parents Evening: This is a free online event, designed for parents who are feeling under pressure. Monday 11th October 7.15pm-8.30pm.  Please see the attached flyer for more information.

House Points:  Well done to the PURPLE team who are our House Team winners this week!

Music lessons:  It has been wonderful to hear the children enjoying their music lessons over the last couple of weeks.  If you would like more information on how to book a place or anything else music lesson related, please do contact Mrs Hipperson or Mrs Nichols in the school office.

Finally, I would like to wish Miss Branch lots of luck for Sunday as she takes part in this year’s London Marathon.  Miss Branch has spent many hours getting fit and ready for the big day and we all send her our best wishes as she undertakes this challenging and fabulous experience.  Good luck KB!!
