28th January 2022

Dear parents/ carers,

Another week draws to an end and as you know there have been a number of Covid positive cases across the school this week.

Thank you all so much for regularly Lateral Flow Testing to identify as early as possible, positive cases.

As a reminder, if your child does test positive for Covid, they should isolate immediately for 10 days but they do not need to get a PCR test. Positive cases should isolate for 10 full days, however, can end isolation early if they get a negative LFD test on day 5 and day 6 – they can then return to school on day 6. If they continue to test positive, then they can repeat the test the next day and each subsequent day until they get two consecutive negative results or reach the end of the 10 day isolation.

If your child has COVID-19 symptoms, even if their LFD is negative, it remains the case that they should stay at home and self-isolate immediately. They should take a PCR test as soon as possible. If this PCR test result is positive, they must continue to self-isolate. You can book a PCR test for your child online: PCR Test Booking.

Home learning will be provided for children that are Covid positive and isolating; please note though, home learning packs may not be available on the first day of isolation.  As staff are teaching and may not be aware of a new positive case until they are already in class, work will be provided within 48 hours.

The National Oak Academy still has some brilliant lessons and activities for all year groups that you may want to access, you can find the resources here:  https://classroom.thenational.academy/
