Dear parents/ carers,

What a great selection of odd socks we had yesterday!  It has been a week of raising awareness for anti-bullying across the school, with the children producing some fantastic work and getting involved in a range of activities.  Cherry class had great fun making friendship bracelets for each other as well as discussing what it is to be kind to each other and creating a ‘kind hands tree’ for their classroom.

Sports Congratulations! During the last few weeks, children across Key Stage 2 have worked very hard on their first virtual competition for 2020; cheerleading.  The sequences were of a very high standard, and I am delighted to confirm the following results:

Year 3 and 4 competition:

Gold: awarded to: Alexis, Ella, Franklin and Lyra

Silver: awarded to: Charlie, Harry, Molly and Toby

Year 5 and 6 competition:

Silver: awarded to: Ella, Heidi, Maisie, Millie, Summer and Violet – Well done to all the children that took part in the event!

Uttlesford Food Bank (UFB) Support:  From Monday, we are collecting items to support families in need, specifically for January, which for many is a very difficult time.  You can bring in your donated items to your child’s class, where we will organise for delivery to UFB at the end of the autumn term.  UFB have requested no Christmas goodies for this collection please.  Items requested are:

Face masks Long life juice & fruit squash UHT milk Baby food 6 months +
Pasta Jars of pasta sauce Vegetarian ready meals Biscuits
Cereals Tea/ coffee Tinned goods Toilet rolls
Toothpaste/ Toothbrushes Shampoo Bath/shower gels/creams/soap Puddings – not Xmas ones

You can also support UFB before Christmas by collecting for their Reverse Advent Calendar or by buying a virtual Christmas hamper, where you can donate a sum to them to contribute to the cost of a hamper, they will purchase donations on your behalf.  Details of UFB can be found here:  https://uttlesford.foodbank.org.uk/

Friday 18th December – last day of autumn term, 1.30pm finish for all children. 

Wrap around provision –  Please note, there will be no after school club on Friday 18th December as children finish school at 1.30pm.  Breakfast club will still be on.
