16th July 2021

Dear parents/ carers,

Another Friday – but this time it’s the last Friday before we finish for the summer holidays on Wednesday!

We had a lovely surprise this week when Zoe from Chickney Hall flowers delivered Sweet Pea posies to school for the staff.  Such a kind and thoughtful treat for all our wonderful staff – thank you Zoe!

What a super time we also had this week taking the Year 6’s to the Wild Forest Nuclear Races on Wednesday.  The children were amazing and really pushed themselves during some challenging obstacles; we all had so much fun being covered in mud and water.  It really was a day to remember!

Year 6 Plant Sale!  Thank you for supporting the Year 6 plant sale, at the last count they had sold £15 worth of plants.  Well done Year 6!

Well done!  a huge well done to Persephone and Daniel for raising £41 today, by making and selling cakes to staff in support of a group of children who will be climbing Mount Snowden, in order to raise awareness about the Multi Schools Council in Essex.  What fantastic role models you are!

Donation to the school:  Thank you so much to Fred Frindle who has given the school £200 this week towards the cost of new goal posts, in memory of his father ‘Slim’ who loved all sports, in particular football.     Such a kind and generous gift – thank you so much.

Free school uniform for families in need:  Uttlesford Children’s Clothing Bank are able to provide non logo school uniform, school shoes, trainers, wellies and coats for families who are struggling to afford them. If you are struggling financially, you can contact them via their Facebook page or by emailing info@uccb.org.uk. In order to give them time to provide the uniform, they would be grateful if any requests could be made before the end of July.

PSA Readathon Bingo: if you haven’t returned your forms and sponsorship yet, could you please drop this off on Monday morning, thank you.

Finally, a reminder that on Wednesday, children need to be collected between 1 and 1.15pm to start the summer holidays.  There will be no after school club on Wednesday.
